Twitter is NOT designed for long-term data storage

If you need a place to archive links, memoranda, and text messages for long-term storage and retrieval, Twitter won't do the job - at least, not by itself. Either use some other tool to begin with, or set up a system to extract your current messages from Twitter and store them somewhere else.
